The current year 2018 is approaching the end and we have to admit that it was full of great newly released games. However, it’ very surprising that among YouTube videos, none of these new amazing and highly anticipated games was the most successful one. The winner for this year is an older but massively popular game from 2017.

The most-viewed gaming video of 2018 belongs to the trailer announcing the fifth season of the world-known Battle Royale game called Fortnite. In less than six months, this video has recorded 48.6 million views so it was surprisingly more successful than many great announcement and other trailers presented for example during E3 including games like The Elder Scrolls VI, Cyberpunk 2077, and The Last of Us Part 2. Following the order, Fallout 76 (33.8 million views) and Red Dead Redemption 2 (27.9 million views) were the second and the third most-viewed video, respectively. On the other hand, it is very interesting to see that one of the most discussed games of this year, Cyberpunk 2077, didn’t make it even to Top10 (only 12.1 million views) so it is obviously not as popular on YouTube as it might seem.
