Fortnite from Epic Games is currently a world hit, it’s a fact. Thus, it is not a surprise that it also attracts more and more fans to watch streams of this game no matter on which channel. Recently, we informed you that the presence of the singer Drake helped to create a new record of Twitch views because the stream had recorded 630,000 concurrent views. Similarly, the most viewed stream on YouTube recorded about 1.1 million concurrent views. Today, we’re coming with another milestone the game has managed to reach.
The Matchmade agency has released statistics of the overall views of YouTube videos related to a defined game. Thanks to that, we got to know that Fortnite managed to record the most views of all the games in February on YouTube and the number is still increasing. In February, the total number of views was 2.4 billion.
This means Fortnite managed to beat the previous leader which was Minecraft. The thing is that the popularity of Minecraft started to drop a lot since the last year’s August when Battle Royale games became popular so it makes perfect sense that the trend of Fortnite views is nearly exactly mirrored compared to the number of views of Minecraft. However, the second most popular Battle Royale game PUBG, together with one of the biggest mobile game Clash Royale, also recorded a small decrease since the time of the Fortnite’s rise as seen in the picture above.
So, it will be very interesting to follow how fast the popularity of Fortnite will be rising and if the game will manage to reach the number of 6 billion YouTube views in one month which Minecraft was oscillating around some time ago.
Fortnite is currently available completely for free on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows.
