We have the large experiences with Day-one patch with February's title called Kingdom Come: Deliverance which came out with 23 GB patch in date of release, but Treyarch managed to double the size. It is certain that certifications take some time by each company on whose platform the game releases. The certification issue is faster or slower, but physical copies are necessary to press out some time before, so the developers have some time before the release to polish imperfections which the game includes. And it all will be concerned in 50 GB patch.
Treyarch confirmed it will be urgent to download and install day-one patch in the day of release without which the game won't be running. Those who already downloaded pre-load, stay calm because preload itself contains the day-one patch. Although, the customers who will buy the physical copy must count with the issue to install 50 GB patch. These problems are connected to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles.
The next important news is, the gamers on PlayStation 4 will be forced to dispose of 112GB free space on their discs before attempting to download the patch.
The last good news is that only 30 % of the patch, in general, will be needed to launch Blackout mode and it can be about 15-20 GB. Afterwards, Blackout mode, also called Battle Royale mode you will be able to play.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is coming out on 12th October 2018 for Windows PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
