Even though the title of the article might seem to say everything, it’s actually not that simple. Let’s explain it step by step. As we informed you during the last weekend, the anticipated remaster version of the legendary game Dark Souls had been released on Friday. And this game is now the main reason why this article was created. But why are we talking about another game compared to the ones mentioned in the title?
Immediately after the release of Dark Souls Remastered, the game attracted not only many players all over the world but also a lot of so-called data miners who were aiming to find interesting information in the source code of the game. A user called Dropoff managed to come with quite a unique fact because he discovered a file containing the primitive version of the Upper Cathedral Ward textures which we all know from the game Bloodborne, another title from the same developer FromSoftware.
Moreover, it was found out that this file was also part of the original game so it’s obvious that Bloodborne was in development already before the release of the original Dark Souls. This means it was in the development at least 4 years before the official release.
This fact itself is already quite an interesting information but this was not enough for Dropoff. This modder managed to use a special software and transfer these textures into the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V. Does it all now make sense? Of course, this result has nearly no practical consequences or possible usage but it’s still very interesting finding. It’s not every day that someone manages to discover a location from one game in another game and then transfer it into a third, totally different game .
If you want to see how the result looks like then check out the video below. You can see Trevor exploring the whole location including riding a car.
