Although Wolfenstein: Youngblood was announced already during the event E3 2018, we haven’t heard much about it since then and probably the most important announcement was the reveal of the official release date back in March. Today, we’re here with at least some new information. Based on the official pre-order description of Wolfenstein: Youngblood at the e-shops GameStop, Amazon, and Walmart, we’ve found out that the physical copy of the Switch version will be pretty much the same as the digital copy because it won’t include a typical cartridge but only a unique code for downloading the game online.
It is important to note that this is not the first and a unique case when the game is not physically present. Already some time ago, more games and game collections were simply too big for the cartridge so they had to be downloaded online anyway. Moreover, Switch cartridges are pretty expensive compared to Blu-ray discs for other consoles so it makes sense not to produce them physically and save some money. On the other hand, it’s then a question what the difference between the physical and the digital copies of the game is, in the end.
Wolfenstein: Youngblood will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and Windows PC.
