God of War from Santa Monica Studio was released just a couple of days ago but it’s already crystal clear this game is one of the best title released this year. The initial reviews were very positive and enthusiastic while most of them did not hesitate to award the game with the highest possible rating. And as we now know, the game is greatly successful also among all the players.

In Great Britain, the statistics of last week’s sales have just been released and although God of War was released on Friday, it managed to sell so many copies only during the weekend that it topped the chart. Moreover, it was revealed that the game has recorded the best launch in the series because the number of units sold during the first week is more than 35 % higher compared to the second most successful title in the series which is God of War 3.

Thanks to this, the game is already the third title of the series which managed to become the best-seller in the UK during the first week after the release because God of War 2 and God of War 3 reached the same record already before. Except for that, God of War also managed to move Far Cry 5 to the second place after this action game from Ubisoft had kept topping the chart every week after the release at the end of March. Sony can be also happy that the third place belongs to another PlayStation exclusive game which is Yakuza 6: The Song of Life from SEGA.
