As in case of GTA V, the next game developed by Rockstar Games, which is Red Dead Redemption 2, has been speculated since its announcement a lot regarding the possible PC version. Why? When the game was announced, only the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions were mentioned but no one really believed the developers would miss the PC version. Now it seems we might be a bit closer to the final answer.
One nameless developer from Rockstar Games might have accidentally leaked the whole point because he filled in his LinkedIn profile with all the developed games including Red Dead Redemption 2 where he mentioned he was developing it not only for the two consoles but also for PC. So, it seems that the PC version is very likely in the development or it’s at least planned to be prepared for sure.
If this was really true, then there would be nothing weird or illogical about it. Rockstar Games used the same strategy when it was developing Grand Theft Auto V because this game was released only on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 while the PC version came with an enhanced graphics at the point of the release of the PS4 and XONE versions. Thanks to that, Rockstar Games sold many more copies and everyone was happy in the end. Thus, it’s definitely possible the studio is now following the same strategy considering the current generation of consoles is getting to the end.
Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on 26th October while only PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions have been officially mentioned so far.
