Cuphead was originally just a small indie game developed by an independent Canadian StudioMDHR. The game is stylized with animations of the 1930s used in cartoons from Walt Disney and others. Thanks to the originality and creativity, the game has recorded a great success and became one of the most popular game of 2017 which is confirmed by several The Game Awards 2017 nominations as we informed you earlier.
The success of the game was registered also by a YouTube channel called 64 Bits which is focused on animated videogame parodies. The channel has found a parallel with Dark Souls because both games are typical by tough boss fights and both can be marked as a hardcore game because it is so difficult to finish them.
The result of merging these two games is a video called “Cupsouls” which shows Dark Souls with its typical environment, characters and enemies but everything is shown in Cuphead animations. The atmosphere is even more increased by using music typical for platformers from that time which gives the original Dark Souls game totally new look.
It is just hard to guess if the merge is beneficial and charming or if it’s rather disturbing. In any case, the video is worth to watch and this is something you can do at the bottom of the article.
